Ana Sandoval has pulled an upset victory to become the newest member of the San Antonio City Council. Next month’s runoffs could produce as many as ix other new council members and a new mayor, but none of them has Ana’s credentials.

Ana has a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and a Masters degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford, along with a Public Health degree from Harvard.

Evan Smith, chief executive officer of the Texas Tribune, joins Rick Casey from Austin to discuss some curious actions this week by Gov. Greg Abbott.

Casey closes out the program with his Last Word, where he talks about how San Antonio is linked to this week's controversy over President Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey.
