New herbicides could wipe out Texas Wine Industry

There is concern that federal approval of new herbicides used on genetically modified cotton seeds could wipe out the Texas wine industry.

The herbicides are currently being used on specific crops, pastures and lawns, but if the Environmental Protection Agency gives final approval Dicamba and 2, 4-D could become more widespread.

The herbicides causes leaves to shrivel and suffer from strapping - interrupting wine grape productivity.
