This week On The Record, host Randy Beamer gets the latest on efforts to help the families of the children killed in the May 24th mass shooting at Robb Elementary School. State Senator Roland Gutierrez (D-19) explains how legislation he is filing in January will provide a support fund for the families – what it will cost and how it will work.

Then, longtime NISD educator Dr. Brian Woods has announced he is retiring from his position as Superintendent.  He talks with Randy about why he will still be involved in Texas education even after he retires.

City of San Antonio spokesperson Laura Mayes explains the city’s upcoming “Neighborhood Leadership Academy”, which is open to residents who want to learn more about advocacy in their neighborhood.
