A cultural tradition far from dead

Email share

Bertha Sandoval, 81, was born in Mexico City where celebrating the Day of the Dead is a well-known tradition. Apart from being an art curator and restorer, Bertha took on the responsibility of representing La Catrina to preserve Mexico’s Day of the Dead culture for future generations.

What began as a voluntary opportunity has turned into a passion she hopes to continue for more years to come. Bertha visited Hotel Emma at the Pearl to share her culture and explain the importance of honoring loved ones who have passed.
