Shannon Ingrassia-Murphy, better known as the artist Shannon Sionna, is bringing a new vibe to Neo Soul in Central Texas. She is a versatile singer, songwriter and classically trained thespian, born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. With influences like Selena Quintanilla, Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys and Luther Vandross, her energy and story-telling ability have made her a favorite in the Central Texas music scene.
Growing up, Shannon was introduced to midtown/funk and soul by her parents at a very young age. With her friends keeping her current, as she admits to "being stuck in the 20th century", Shannon was able to create her own genre of music to which she defines as Neo Soul/Funk. She has been performing live since 2004, and later went on to be classically trained in 2006, dropping her first single on SoundCloud in 2015. Shannon is not only a notable vocalist, but has also been trained in musical theatre from 2015-2017. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Theatre: Performance & Production.
Just as she pours her grace, passion and soul into her music, Shannon also admits to being very passionate about doing her part as an activist. She has performed at benefits for cancer patients and misplaced individual in shelters. More recently, Shannon has taken a strong interest in climate and environment preservation. She is making plans to donate and perform for such organizations sharing her views in the near future.
