This week On The Record host Randy Beamer talks with District 6 Council Member Melissa Cabello Havrda, about the proposed plan for seniors to volunteer in exchange for lower property taxes.
Next, the topic turns to Northside ISD’s recent bond election, and Governor Abbott’s decision to investigate claims that teachers and staff were forced to support the bond at the voting booth. Randy talks with Northside AFT President Wanda Longoria about their take on the investigation.
Then, it’s tax talk with Bexar County Appraiser Michael Amezquita. He gives you some great tips on how to protest your taxes – and why you should!
Finally, we head back into the tunnel. The proposed tunnel by Elon Musk that could potentially run from the airport to downtown is reviewed and panned by SA Current reporter Michael Karlis. He’ll explain why he says there are a lot of problems with the tunnel becoming a reality.
