Texas Voter ID Law violates U.S. Voting Rights Act

The Texas Voter ID Law, passed by the Texas Legislature five years ago, is discriminatory and violates the U.S. Voting Rights Act.

That decision from the full Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

The court decided the Texas Legislature could not require forms of ID that are more difficult to obtain for African-American, Latino and low-income voters.
