Crime data shows cities along Texas side of border safer than larger cities

New crime data compiled by state and federal authorities suggest cities along the Texas side of the border are safer from crime than the state’s largest cities.

The story appears in the Texas Tribune.

Money and manpower being used along the border to keep unauthorized immigrants, terrorists and drugs out of the country may be one reason for the crime drop.

But the data also shows violent crimes have remained the same or have dropped over the past five years.
