The Black Church in San Antonio
The Black church was more than a brick and mortar gathering place on Sunday. It was where a civil rights movement was born, where slavery was fought, where leaders - men and women - were created and grown. The Black church pushed the limits of White community leadership to accept the very existence of African Americans as equal people.
Hosted by Tommy Calvert, the Black Church airs on Channel 9 at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29 and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2.
This program is proudly sponsored by H-E-B Helping Here.
