Join CineFestival for a screening of the Independent Lens documentary No Mas Bebes, set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Guadalupe Theater, 1301 Guadalupe Street.

The extended “filmmaker's cut” of the emotional and powerful story exploring the forced sterilizations of scores of Latina women at the Los Angeles County Hospital in the late '60s and early '70s will be shown.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Renee Tajima-Peña, the film explores issues of racial injustice, reproductive rights and government-sanctioned family planning programs gone horribly awry. Tajima-Peña will be in attendance for a post screening discussion of the film.

KLRN viewers can receive $2 off their admission ticket with an online purchase. Use dad7a562bd as promotional code when you purchase a ticket.
