The 2020 Republican National convention kicks off Monday, Aug. 24, and runs through Thursday, Aug. 27. The four-day event, according to the Trump campaign, aims to “honor the great American story.” PBS NewsHour will provide live coverage of the convention nightly from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
After being introduced by his daughter Ivanka, President Trump will take the stage to officially accept his party’s nomination on Thursday at the White House, precisely one week after former Vice President Joe Biden accepted the Democratic Party nomination.
In an unprecedented move, President Trump plans to speak at the convention every night. Other speakers slated to pump up Republican voters for November’s election run the gamut, from recognizable party names like U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, to Trump’s children and family, to viral figures in conservative media, such as Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the St. Louis couple who waved guns at Black Lives protesters this summer.
