KLRN CITY SHOWDOWN RETURNS FOR A THIRD SEASON
Digital battle of the bands features musicians from San Antonio and nearby cities
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (Tuesday, March 17) – KLRN’s award-winning digital series, City Showdown, has returned for a third season. The thirteen contestants taking part in this year’s contest are featured on KLRN's YouTube channel and Instagram.
City Showdown is a friendly battle of the bands that celebrates San Antonio’s vibrant music scene and encourages civic awareness. Last season, District 6’s INOHA won a decisive victory with their song, “Saturday Nights,” and this year’s winner is anyone’s guess.
Each contestant represents a city council district with an original music video, showcasing talent from across our city. This season, musicians from Floresville, Helotes, and Windcrest have joined the competition, representing other cities in KLRN’s 33-county viewing area.
This year’s lineup features a wide array of musical styles including: pop punk, conjunto, country, R&B, and more. Viewers can award points to their favorites by ranking the entries at www.klrn.org/cityshowdown. A community jury will also weigh in. The top four contestants will advance on to the City Showdown Finale on April 7th where the winner will be revealed live.
