CPS Energy’s New Energy Economy partners, OCI Solar Power, Silver Spring Networks, and Landis + Gyr have joined forces to become founding sponsors of the new Energy Partnership Innovation (EPI) Center, which will be built at the Historic Mission Road Power Plant. The center will be the mecca for new energy collaborators; a space which will bring new life for education, collaboration, economic development and job creation.

The resources needed in the advancement of new and sustainable energy and technology will be found at one location. The convenience of having an all-in-one hub is expected to attract global business partners and collaborators. No other center of its kind currently exists worldwide.

The center will house unique community open spaces dedicated to new and emerging energy industry technologies, including an auditorium for conferences and events, interactive energy exhibits, and a New Energy Economy think tank among other community resources like a garden and café. With a view of the San Antonio Riverwalk, the center will play homage to the iconic power plant which provided gas- powered electricity to residents for 95 years, by keeping much of the infrastructure and smoke stacks from the original campus.  The first phase of development is targeted for completion in early 2018.
