June is Pride month – a time for celebrating the accomplishments, visibility, and contributions of the LGBTQ+ Community.
For many, Pride also serves as an important time of personal reflection and a chance to learn about the ever-evolving landscape of Queer identity.
Though recent years have brought increased visibility for LGBTQ+ individuals, there are still many terms and words that might confuse some outside the community.
On June 8th, KLRN hosted an “LGBTQ&A” panel discussion with members of San Antonio’s LGBTQ+ Community. The discussion ranged from the reclamation of the word “Queer”, to explaining Nonbinary and Gender non-confirming identities, to the importance of pronouns, and more. Watch the full discussion on our Facebook page.
All month long, KLRN is airing several featured programs commemorating Pride month. Check out a full list by visiting our blog at: https://www.klrn.org/blogs/station-news/celebrate-pride-in-june-with-klrn/.
