Hello my name is Irma Aguilar. I am a singer and songwriter born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Growing up on the west side of San Antonio, I grew up listening to all kinds of Spanish music. I remember hearing my father with his bajo sexto playing all of the old traditional boleros and music from famous trios. That is where my love of music began.
Changes in my life led me to start writing music with my husband. We began this journey together in 2017. From the start, we decided to write our own music in order to share true experiences with others. Therefore, each and every one of our songs has a story behind it.
In 2019, we were blessed with the opportunity of going to Cuba and recording our very first cd titled “Sufre”. In 2020, we completed our second cd titled “Dos Mundos /2 Worlds which is actually a double cd. It contains 7 songs in mariachi and 7 in country. All of our mariachi music is produced and arranged by Mr. Henry Gomez alongside our engineer, Mr. Joe Trevino at Blue Cat Studios. Our country music is produced, arranged and engineered by Mr. Bobby Flores at BAM studios.
In 2021, we had the honor of collaborating with Max Baca from Los TexManiacs on 3 songs. Our first song, “Arrepentido” They also participated on another of our singles “Otra Navidad Sin Ti” which featured Mr. Jesse Lechuga. Thanks to Max Baca, we were able to get an interview with Ms. Nelda Saenz at KEDA.
We devoted all of 2021 on writing and releasing singles instead of producing an album. They were a combination of mariachi, boleros, tejano and country music.
We started this year by collaborating with our very good friend, Rhonda Garcia. She is the lead female singer for Los Caporales aside from being asked to sing with Mariachi Vargas at certain events.
Our goal is to continue writing music and touching peoples’ hearts. It’s not about fame or fortune. It’s about connecting with others as we all go through this journey called life.
