The city’s proposed new transportation plan includes the use of light rail.

Newsradio 1200 WOAI reports voters in San Antonio overwhelmingly rejected light rail in a vote 16 years ago.

City officials unveiled the new plan earlier this week that provides transportation options for the next 30 years.

With at least one million more residents expected by the year 2020, traffic planners say a mix of vehicles, bicycles, buses, walking and light rail is needed.
