It’s Teacher Appreciation Week!
For this year’s Teacher Appreciation Week, The National PTA has chosen the theme of “Teachers are Shining Stars!” As we take this week to celebrate the teachers in our children’s lives, KLRN wanted to share some easy and fun activity ideas. We know how important teachers are and this week is a great time to send a heartfelt thank you to our teachers.
Here are three ways to celebrate educators this Teacher Appreciation Week!
- Write a Thank you note. Take some time with your child to help him/ her write out or draw a thank you card. Here are a few printable notes and Thank you card ideas from PBS.
Make Your Own Thank you Cards: Making a homemade card is one way your child can say thank you to a friend, relative or teacher.
Printable Thankful time notes| Sesame Street: These notes are a great way to show thanks and appreciation for the special people in your students' lives.
- Get Personal. Children often know their teachers favorite drink, snack or hobby. Something as simple as a favorite candy, drink or gift card are ways to show appreciation. Small tokens of appreciation go a long way.
- Make something Special. Teachers also love homemade items. Make some paper flowers, decorate a frame or bracelet. Here are some ideas from PBS KIDS.
Friends and Family Gifts and Crafts: Help your child show others they care while developing a joy for giving through gift making.
Great teachers put their students first, spark their curiosity, and encourage them to believe in themselves! In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, PBS KIDS asked our audience who their favorite PBS KIDS teachers were. Scroll down to see if your favorites made the list!

No matter what you do, take some time during Teacher Appreciation Week to show your educators how much you appreciate them.
