KLRN Celebrates Women Trailblazers

This summer 2020, PBS and KLRN celebrate the women’s vote centennial with a slate of multi-platform content honoring and commemorating U.S. women’s suffrage, the feminist movement and modern-day change-makers. Watch with us!

Trailblazers is featured in PBS LearningMedia, the free resource that includes thousands of contextualized learning materials aligned to state and national standards. It offers a host of educational offerings including “Trailblazers” video clips, activities, discussion questions and interactive lessons fromAMERICAN EXPERIENCE “The Vote,” AMERICAN MASTERS “Unladylike2020,” and much more, which are available now and throughout the summer. These resources will help social studies, English, language arts and science educators bring important and understudied topics in women’s history to life in their classrooms.

**Friday, Jun. 10| 8PM**| **American Masters: Unladylike 2020** - This multimedia series illuminates the stories of extraordinary American heroines from the early years of feminism.

**Tuesday, Jun. 16| 7PM**| **American Masters: Mae West** - This is the first major documentary film to explore West’s life and career, as she “climbed the ladder of success wrong by wrong” to become a writer, performer and subversive agitator for social change.

Wednesday, Jun. 17| 8PM | Prehistoric Road Trip is hosted by the Field Museum’s Emily Graslie, who embarks on an epic adventure through America’s fossil country. Premieres

Friday, Jun. 19 | 8PM | Great Performances: Ann is a no-holds-barred two-hour theatrical production portraying Ann Richards, Governor of Texas from 1991-95.

Sunday, Jun. 21| 7PM | Royal History’s Myths and Secrets with Lucy Worsley is a BBC co-production that investigates notable women and their roles in historical events.

**Tuesday, Jun. 23| 7PM |** **American Masters: Toni Morrison**is an artful and intimate meditation on the legendary storyteller that examines her life, her works and the powerful themes she has confronted throughout her literary career.

Friday, Jun. 26 | 8PM | Great Performances: Gloria- Known as one of the most visible leaders of the late 20th and early 21st centuries' women's rights movement, Gloria Steinem is an acclaimed journalist and trailblazing feminist.
