Highly regarded composer and University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) professor, Ethan Wickman received a grant to work on his latest project – a cantata combining poetry, personal and archived histories to weave together the cultural narrative of greater San Antonio and its borderland region. The cantata journeys through 11 movements portraying the heirlooms and historical interviews of San Antonio's origins. It will also include a poem by former Poet Laureate of Texas, Carmen Tafolla, as well as several works from local poet John Phillip Santos.
