Barney & Friends : Do
Pretend VeterinarianHelp your child gather several stuffed animals. Pretend you are a pet owner with a sick or injured pet. Your child can examine and treat your pet. Additional props that make the pretend play more fun include a bathroom scale, adhesive bandages and a dog leash.
Paper Plate Puppies
Make a paper plate puppy. Each child will need one paper plate, markers or crayons, and a craft stick. Begin by looking in magazines for different kinds of dogs and puppies. Discuss length of hair, size of animals, etc. Give your child markers or crayons to decorate their paper plate to look like a dog with whiskers, ears, eyes and markings.
Tape the paper plate to a craft stick to make it into a puppet. Encourage your child to use his/her puppet to make the dog come to life. They will have fun making the puppets "bark," "wag" and "whimper."
