USO San Antonio presented a token of appreciation to KLRN in honor of the station’s support of the 2017 Pathfinder & Partner program. The Pathfinder & Partner program is a USO San Antonio initiative to support transitioning service members.

In July, KLRN co-hosted a luncheon for 100-plus military, transitioning military and community members in the Robert L.B. Tobin Studio at KLRN. Attendees were able to network and create healthy connections as they explored employment opportunities during transition from military service.

Also, in 2017, with support from AT&T and Valero, KLRN produced a web-only series: Transitioning Your Military Skills (pbs.klrn.org/veterans/transition). The collection of seven videos support service members and their families as they explore their next career.

Together with USO San Antonio, the Office of Personnel Management and MilCity USA, KLRN connected with representatives from agencies like: Valero, USAA, Goodwill Industries, Family Endeavors, Gold Star Wives, University of Texas at San Antonio, Bexar County and Style Church to build the collection.

We are incredibly proud of our Veterans Voices initiatives, which serves veterans and their families. We are also honored to be recognized by our esteemed community partner, USO San Antonio.
