Schools may have to disclose transgender students' identities to their parents under a proposed bill filed for the upcoming Texas legislative session.

State Sen. Konni Burton’s bill would call for schools to provide information on student’s behavioral patterns.

Critics say the bill would abolish guidelines that prevent schools from disclosing a transgender student’s identity to parents without the student’s permission.
