San Antonio has two endangered landmarks

The new list of endangered landmarks in Texas is out and two locations are right here in San Antonio.

KSAT 12 News reports the Confluence Theater at HemisFair and the Woolworth Building in Alamo Plaza were nominated by the San Antonio Conservation Society.

The theater was built for the 1968 Hemisfair and is the current home of the John H. Wood Junior U.S. Courthouse.

The Woolworth Building is across from the Alamo and houses Ripley’s Haunted Adventure and Guinness World Records Museum.

The 2016 endangered landmarks list includes cultural, architectural and historic places at risk, and represent the types of sites endangered across Texas.
