Officials say think carefully about getting a pet for Christmas

If you have plans to make a Christmas gift out of a puppy or kitten, the city’s Animal Care Services has a warning.

ACS says pets require constant attention and supervision which could be in short supply due to the holiday season.  

Parents buying a new puppy or kitten for their children this Christmas should realize they will likely be the primary caregivers of the animal.
