More than 200,000 people are expected to attend this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. March, which is one of the largest in the country.

The annual march promotes human equality, principles of nonviolence and understanding and acceptance of racial harmony.

Leading up to the Jan. 18 event will be a series of films, lectures and symposiums known as DreamWeek.

The 12-day event begins this Friday.
