The state Supreme Court has ruled that the Texas school finance system is constitutional.

The court reversed a lower court ruling that decided state funding was inadequate and unfairly distributed.

More than 600 school districts sued the state after $5.4 billion in cuts were made to public education and related classroom grant programs.

Today’s decision means the state legislature will not have to come up with a new funding system.
