Animal cruelty cases in San Antonio could rise

Animal Care Services predicts animal cruelty cases may rise since school is out and temperatures continue to increase, and warns that such cruelty is illegal.

The agency says to keep an eye out for possible signs of animal abuse, including

  • Pets chained by the neck or with tow chains
  • Beaten and tortured pets
  • Injured or sick animals with no veterinary care
  • Having an excessive numbers of pets with improper care
  • Fighting or provoking pet fights
  • Sexual abuse of animals
