Participants are encouraged to use these power breaks to refresh, enjoy snacks and visit the various health screenings (listed below) that will be available from both local and national vendors and sponsors.
In 2008, Hablando de la Salud de la Mujer is proud to introduce “Destination Wellness,”
a new brand designed to identify health screenings and health-specific sponsor booths.
The screenings listed below are all part of this new initiative that will be your “Destination
Wellness Passport!”
Everyday Super Hero Skin Screening
Congested pores/acne

Dry skin/dehydration
The process takes less than 5 minutes and is easy. For best results your skin should be free of makeup (facial towelettes will be provided for you to wipe off your face makeup; eye makeup is ok to leave on). The machine uses black light - blue lamp technology. You place your head under the hood and look into the magnifying mirror. The skin specialist will look through the magnifying viewer on the opposite side of the machine and analyze your skin’s condition and recommend ways for you to improve your skincare regime.

Bone Health Screening
Are you aware of the risk factors for low bone density? It’s something every woman should know. Each participant will place her BARE right heel into an ultrasound-screening machine. You will leave the screening with an understanding of all of your risk factors and your T-score, the measurement that compares your bone density with that of healthy young women. An assessment form is yours to keep and discuss with your physician.

Heart Health Screening
Learn all about your heart disease risk factors in your effort to be heart healthy – because knowledge is power. You'll have your blood pressure, total cholesterol and body mass index (BMI) measured.
