PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest
Calling young authors! The PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest kicks off January 27, 2010. Formerly the Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest, this year’s contest has a new name, but the purpose is the same--to encourage Kinder through Third grade children in communities across the country to explore the power of creativity by writing and illustrating their own stories. KLRN’s local contest is sponsored by H-E-B, with additional support provided by the
Nathalie and Gladys Dalkowitz Charitable Trust.
You can pick up an entry form at participating H-E-B stores (beginning in mid-February) or download one now by clicking here.

College Call-In 2010
KLRN’s 5th Annual College Call-In, connecting parents and students with college admissions and financial aid counselors, will air Thurs., Feb. 25 from 8PM-9PM on KLRN. Taped at a local coffee house, the Call-In will feature segments from the PBS series, Roadtrip Nation, tips from college experts, and some fun surprises. This year, viewers can call-in or log-in to learn more about going to college. During the airing, the Call-In’s website will feature a live twitter stream for audience members to “tweet” their questions to the experts. Special thanks go to our project partner, the San Antonio Education Partnership, for their help in making this event happen.
