KLRN provides workshops designed for parents and their children that are built around the Learning Triangle of “View,” “Do” and “Read." These one hour long workshops provide in-depth information on ways to link PBS programming, book reading and related activities.
The major goal of these workshops is to help participants develop skills that will allow them to use television as a teaching tool. These skills include the use of songs, crafts, reading, discussions and other activities that extend the learning "off the screen." Each workshop introduces a new children’s book, which families will keep, a video segment and an educational hands-on activity. These workshops are designed for children ages zero to eight. Reserve your space by calling Melissa Galvan at 210-270-9000, ext. 2265.
