ICTT is an event that utilizes small-group, hands-on, interactive sessions to highlight the importance of integrating cutting-edge technology and instructional video into the classroom curriculum. Teachers, media specialists, instructional technologists, administrators, and others educational professionals from across San Antonio and throughout south central Texas are invited to attend the event.

At ICTT presenters conduct workshops for educators--providing training, demonstrating effective strategies, and linking teachers to a network of other teachers with shared goals. ICTT also publishes classroom-ready, standards and technology-based resources for participating teachers to use and to share with their colleagues. The Institute will feature:

Overview sessions, addressing KLRN's educational resources

Facilitator-led Workshops

Premiums and resources distributed to all participants

Keynote speaker presentations

CD-ROMs of classroom-ready, standards and technology-based resources for participating teachers

The opportunity to extend the learning experience through enrollment in a PBS TeacherLine of Texas online course

At the conference, presenters will work with participants in small, cooperative learning groups, sharing strategies for them to take back to the classroom. Our methods use technology to support teaching objectives such as interdisciplinary learning and real-world problem solving, and participants learn to use software, video and the Internet to explain, motivate, reinforce, and address students with different learning styles.

Participants leave the conference with a bag full of new ideas, strategies, and additional classroom resources.

Though inherently a professional development program aimed at serving educators, ICTT’s ultimate beneficiaries are the many students these teachers inspire. To that end, KLRN is dedicated to contributing to the technology skills and understanding of teachers that will allow them to prepare our 21st century learners.

THE NATIONAL PARKS UNTOLD STORIES PROJECT:
The Untold Stories project brings to light stories focusing on the role of African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans in the creation and protection of individual parks. Five original short films were created, and one of those films is about the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. Click here to watch the film.
