Relive HemisFair, a grand fiesta in celebration of San Antonio’s 250th birthday. What was conceived as a “Fair of the Americas” blossomed into the 1968 World’s Fair, uniting 33 nations and attracting visitors from around the globe, all during one of the most tumultuous, tragic years in America’s history.

San Antonio Remembered: HemisFair recalls the bird’s eye view from the Swiss skyride, strolling above the crowds on elevated walkways, and weaving in and around the international pavilions on the mini-monorail. Once again, watch the breathtaking Los Voladores (the “Flying Indians”) and a spectacular waterski performance on the tiny lake at the foot of the Tower of Americas.

This third reminiscence in KLRN’s San Antonio Remembered series features interviews with the people who made the fair a reality and charted San Antonio’s future. Their personal accounts, along with exquisitely preserved film footage, recreate all of the excitement and anticipation that was HemisFair 1968.
